Back to Saint Augustine

On Saturday, January 11th, we took a break from Orlando and drove northeast back up to Saint Augustine where Steve’s step-sister Wendy and her family live.

We had planned to take time to explore the historic Spanish missions in the area; but once we arrived and started to visit, we decided to just spend the day with the extended family and let the boys enjoy being with their cousins.  And we are so glad that we did!  After all, the Spanish missions in Saint Augustine aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, but our time with Wendy and her family is very limited.  I feel we made the wiser choice.

We arrived around lunchtime, spent the afternoon visiting (Wendy’s in-laws were also visiting), then had a backyard cookout for dinner before heading back to Orlando for the night.  Our trip back to Orlando took a little longer than our original trip because it was dark and raining when we left Saint Augustine, but we made it back safe and sound.

Such a lovely family, and so glad we took the time to be with them for the day!
